Editorial Policy
Editorial standards, corrections policy, verification rules, and disclosure practices at Samman Times.
Editorial policy
Samman Times follows a newsroom process designed to protect accuracy, fairness, and reader trust. Reporters and editors are expected to verify claims before publication, identify credible sources, and distinguish reporting from opinion or sponsored material.
Fact checking and source verification
We verify documents, official statements, on-the-record interviews, and observational reporting before publication. Sensitive claims are cross-checked against multiple sources whenever possible.
Corrections policy
When an error is identified, we correct it as quickly as possible and update the story with a clear correction note if the change is material. Significant corrections are retained for transparency.
Conflict of interest
Editors and reporters must disclose conflicts that may affect coverage decisions. Commercial considerations cannot override editorial judgment.
Sponsored content disclosure
Paid or sponsored material is clearly labelled. Opinions expressed by contributors belong to the respective authors and may not necessarily reflect the views of Samman Times.
We reserve editorial independence in story selection, editing, and publication decisions.
